The Center for Wound Healing and HyperbaricMedicine

The mission of TheCenter for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to provide the Southern NewEngland region with access to expertise in advanced wound care and hyperbaricmedicine therapies.

Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope

  • As a Wound Care APRN you will beresponsible for clinical tasks and functions including:
  • Comprehensive diagnosis and woundassessment of patients
  • Perform procedures such as wounddebridement, biopsies, application of skin biologics and substitutes
  • Ordering appropriate lab tests,imaging studies, radiographic and other cardiac imaging studies, interpret lab,imaging studies and others.
  • Management of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapytreatments
  • With the inter-professional CareTeam, coordinate care of assigned patients including nursing care, nutrition,medications, dressings and adjunctive wound therapies
  • Review patient charts, writeprogress notes, tabulate data, and complete other required medical recorddocumentation
  • Shift: Full Time

  • Qualifications

    AdvancedPractitioner Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
  • National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a national board certification.
  • Wound care certification or experience strongly preferred; HBO experience preferred but will train.
